Global Aircraft Services (GAS) is an Australian-owned company founded in 2011, dedicated to providing skilled and experienced contract workforce to Aircraft Maintenance Facilities across Australia, including Sydney, regional NSW, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and far north Queensland, as well as the South Pacific region.

Commitment to Industry

The Covid-19 pandemic brought unprecedented challenges to the aviation industry, with heavy restrictions on air travel leading to a significant gap in the semi-skilled and skilled workforce. Recognising this critical issue, Global Aircraft Services (GAS) took proactive steps to address the shortage and support the industry's recovery.

Innovative Training Initiative

GAS designed and facilitated an innovative 8-week short skilled training course in partnership with Aviation Australia, the Queensland Government, and the Australian Government. This course was conducted in Cairns and aimed to equip individuals with the necessary skills to perform basic maintenance tasks on aircraft.

Impact and Outcomes

The program successfully trained individuals, who were guaranteed jobs upon completion. This initiative filled the gap in the workforce with an influx of semi-skilled personnel capable of performing essential maintenance tasks. By doing so, it alleviated the pressure on fully skilled personnel, allowing them to focus on more complex and critical maintenance duties.

By investing in training and workforce development, GAS not only addressed an immediate need but also contributed to the long-term resilience and sustainability of the aviation industry during a challenging period.
